David Carmichael
Vice President, Preclinical Development
Dr. Carmichael is responsible for the development of Xencor's product candidates. Activities include all aspects of preclinical development and interactions with health regulatory agencies as required for clinical evaluation. Prior to joining Xencor, Dr. Carmichael held positions in preclinical development with Synergen, (later purchased by Amgen) and most recently, FibroGen. Dr. Carmichael received a BA in Biology from the University of California at San Diego and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Purdue University. He conducted postdoctoral research with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at the University of Washington prior to joining industry. He brings 19 years of industry experience in protein therapeutics to Xencor.
